Orazio Bartolomeo, M.D.

Dr. WilcoxDr. Bartolomeo was raised in the nearby suburbs of Itasca and moved to the Barrington area in 1997 when he began treating patients at Barrington Family Practice. Dr. Bartolomeo is involved in his community where he has two small children who are attending elementary school. He is on staff at Good Shepherd Hospital and Governor’s Park Rehabilitation Center, both of which are in Barrington. He is also on staff at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

Dr. Bartolomeo started building his practice here after graduating residency from LaGrange Hospital with a specialty of Family Medicine. He is also board certified through American Board of Family Medicine. From that time, he has developed the practice from a small hospital owned practice to a private, multi-specialty medical facility. It has grown so quickly due to Doctor’s philosophy of having compassion and respect for the patient. He does this by seeing patients in a timely manner, listening to their problems, taking the time to adequately explain their condition, and answering all questions the patient and their family may have.

He keeps up to date with this fast growing medical field by attending various medical conferences across the country. He is heavily involved in lecturing other physicians on hypertension, high cholesterol, depression, osteoporosis, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. He is involved in clinical trials to help further medical research. This assures him the most current literature and guidelines on the diverse practice of family medicine. Dr. Bartolomeo’s one and only concern is for the patient.

Dr. Wilcox

Dr. WilcoxDr. Wilcox is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine.  He holds his medical license in the state of Illinois where his practice is located, and is also licensed in the states of Wisconsin and Arizona.  His memberships are current in the American Academy of Family Practice, the AMA, and the AOA.

Dr. Wilcox was born and raised in the northwest suburbs, and now lives in the area with his wife and two children.  The northwest suburbs of Chicago are an ideal location for Dr. Wilcox’s practice, as he was born and raised here and his family and friends provide a stable foundation for an enduring practice at the Barrington Family Medicine Building.

Dr. Wilcox provides the highest quality of healthcare for his patients by maintaining full staff privileges at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, and Sherman Hospital in Elgin.  As Director of Community Medical Education through Good Shepherd Hospital, Dr Wilcox provides medical care for his patients and follows all the latest medical studies and guidelines.  He gives frequent lectures to the community regarding the latest technological advances in treating disease and injury and the prevention of these problems.

Dr. Wilcox’s philosophy: “I believe good care is provided to my patients by practicing competent, evidence-based medicine.  But this is only half of keeping patients satisfied.  Actually sitting down and listening to my patients’ complaints will not only keep them happier with my treatment plan, but will also help me to find the correct diagnosis or prevent a problem in the first place.  To me, good patient care includes offering same day appointments and hours that are accessible, timely call backs, and friendly discussions.  I place emphasis on preventing health problems before they happen.  When I do find problems, I am sure to examine all contributing aspects of one’s life, before focusing on available treatment options.”
